Trichster
Well, I guess I said it all up there in the comic. Sigh. It’s not easy for me to admit, and in all honesty, it’s something I am finally coming to real terms with lately, just with how bad it’s really gotten. Oof. I do it more often than I am willing to really get into. I’m just happy it’s not obvious (as in bald patches).
Some more info on trichotillomania can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trichotillomania
Also I should note that the title of this comic is a nod to this Kickstarter fundraiser going on right now (of which I have no affilliation or ties to): http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1024153773/trichster
Consider giving it a donation, yeah? :) Well, I hope you all a good weekend, and see you on Monday! Thank you all for reading :)

I hope everything works out. If things get too stressful I doubt any of us readers will fault you for taking a break from the book.
I swear, sometimes I think our bodies are actively out to get us. Compulsive disorders suck.
Regarding not knowing where to start, a while ago a blogger I follow wrote about a (different) compulsive disorder she suffers from. I don’t know if you’ll find it interesting or useful, but here’s the link: http://freethoughtblogs.com/blaghag/2011/06/picking-on-myself/
Thanks for the link, kaotik….That writer has what I have. Never been able to find much information on it. >.<
I hope you find a solution to your hair-pulling, Christopher. I know it's a hard habit to break
I already told it in you twitter but i dropped some documents that may be some help with your problem
grahhhh! i do the eyebrow and eyelash thing sometimes too! NO! what have you done chris? now i’m going to be really paranoid about that! :O
I know, right? Me too!
Well, ah… looking on the bright side of things, eventually you won’t have to worry about the cost of shampoo? :) Unfortunately, I know next to nothing about where you’d find help for that sort of thing. :(
I pull at the beard hairs on the sides of my lips.
Wait, that’s a thing!? I totally do that when life gets stressful, too! It was always my eyebrows/eyelashes, though. I seriously lost one side of my facial hair when I was around 16 or 17. Good luck on finding some help, man. Let me know, yeah? ><
I’ve had trichotillomania since I was eight, and I’ve been gathering information about it for a long time. I’ve summarized most of what I know in this blog post. It might be nothing new to you, but I hope it helps.

I have the exact same thing, and have had it for years. Along with dermatillomania.
Luckily for me though, I tried my hardest to stop pulling out the hairs on my head, and that habit had passed on and left almost bald spots where I would normally pull. I’m still waiting for hair to fully grow in those spots.
Unfortunately I can’t get passed picking the split ends from my long hair and poking at my pores every chance I get, which was probably what helped me stop pulling in the first place.
You need something to keep you distracted from pulling. It’s really hard to stop (for me it was, and still is for my split end/pore picking), but if you find something to knead in your hands or anything to keep your hands busy, it will definitely help.
Whenever I get the feeling to pull at my hair and whatnot, I just try to run my hands through my hair, massage my scalp and rub my neck. It gives me a similar relaxed feeling to when I previously pulled.
tldr; I have similar problems, and suggest coping by keeping your hands distracted. It’s extremely hard (for me) to get over, and wish you the best of luck.
